My name is Noelle Fox and I am Holy Trinity’s new Director of Faith Formation Ministries. It’s great to be with you! Today’s story comes from Mark 10:46-52. It’s the story of Bartimaeus. Bartimaeus was blind so he couldn’t use his eyes to see things. He used his ears to carefully hear things. Let’s take a few minutes to imagine what it would be like to be blind. Close your eyes and listen. What do you notice? When I closed my eyes outside on Northwest Boulevard, I heard the construction trucks working to repair the road. While near the church playground, I closed my eyes and heard the shouts and voices of children happily playing. Again, outside, I heard an airplane fly overhead.
Bartimaeus was bold, courageous, and faithful to God. Many people told God to be quiet, but he was bold and continued to help God to ask him to see. God blessed Bartimaeus with sight. Jesus says to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.”
The Healing of Blind Bartimaeus
They came to Jericho. As he and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the roadside. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many sternly ordered him to be quiet, but he cried out even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus stood still and said, “Call him here.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart; get up, he is calling you.” So throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. Then Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “My teacher,[g] let me see again.” Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way. (Mark 10:46-52)
Please join me in prayer:

In your name we pray. Amen
I look forward to seeing you soon- in Sunday School, in Worship, or online! Have a great day!
