Long before the YWCA Family Center existed, Holy Trinity was a partner congregation in the Interfaith Hospitality Network, a group of churches that housed and provided food to families who were temporarily homeless. But now, at this unprecedented time, we are not able to help in person as we’ve become accustomed. Volunteers are not currently allowed on site so the Y-Center is asking for monetary donations to help cover the costs of food and staffing to replace the meal we previously provided once every two months along with Advent Lutheran and Northwest Christian Church. Holy Trinity will use designated funds already earmarked for the Y-Family Center to help “sponsor” dinner on Saturday, June 6 (the date we would have served.) We will keep you posted if/when the situation changes and we are once again able to help out in person. If we’re able to be on-site, our next scheduled date to serve is Saturday, August 1. Please contact Chris Pryor for more information.
About this blog
Welcome to my running online dialog on matters of our life together in faith community at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church—where the grace of Christ Jesus our Lord engages each of us and, in turn, sends us out to engage others with that grace as well. I look forward to learning and growing together.
