True stewardship is impossible without faith. Apart from faith, “all our righteous acts are like filthy rags,” wrote the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 64:6). The writer to the Hebrews echoes that statement: “Without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6). On the other side of the coin, though, we have James’ words; “I will show you my faith by what I do” (James 2:18). The two go hand in hand, and God is the giver of both faith and the ability to do God’s works. For more info on stewardship, contact Max Buban.
About this blog
Welcome to my running online dialog on matters of our life together in faith community at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church—where the grace of Christ Jesus our Lord engages each of us and, in turn, sends us out to engage others with that grace as well. I look forward to learning and growing together.
