Giving at Holy Trinity

Online Offering

Holy Trinity has partnered with Tithe.ly, an ELCA-endorsed electronic giving platform, that makes it easy for people who prefer to make their contributions via credit or debit cards through a website or mobile device. Simply click on http://www.engagedbygrace.org/offering or scan the QR code to the right which directs you to our customized giving site.  If you choose to use Tithe.ly for your offering, it will be treated the same as any other offering you provide, with one exception.  As with any credit/debit transaction, there are associated fees.  Tithe.ly allows the donor to cover those fees, if you wish, enabling Holy Trinity to receive the full value of your gift.

Regular Proportionate Giving

God accomplishes the ministry of our spending plan through the investment of each household in the congregation through their regular proportionate offering.

  • Some communities described in the Bible talk about proportionate giving as a tithe
    • That is, presenting the first 10% of one’s income as an offering to God.
    • The purpose of a tithe is three-fold:
      • Expresses thanks to God
      • Supports God’s mission in the world
      • Puts love of God over love of money
  • New Testament teaching
    • Jesus in Matthew 6: Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
    • Paul in 2 Corinthians:
      • given to God’s saints/mission
      • set aside in advance
      • proportionate
      • regular
  • Some households grow in their own health and joy for giving to know that the average household gift in the congregation is approximately $2000.
    • Everyone’s financial circumstances are different.
    • Average will be too much for some; not enough for others.

Capital Giving

Gifts for capital improvements at the church are received only after regular proportionate commitments are met. They generally draw on reserve and surplus pools of personal financial resources, and are used for special purposes designated by the congregation/council.

Legacy/Estate Giving

In the spirit of love for Christ and others, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church invites you to consider continuing your financial support of our ministries through a gift from your estate after God calls you home. Whether the Lord has entrusted you with much or little, God’s spirit calls you to be a good steward and to use your possessions as a witness to your faith.

Concerts at Holy Trinity

The vision for the Mission Outreach Concert Series is Holy Trinity Lutheran Church extending its service to the gospel of Jesus Christ through the appreciation of music. The mission of the concert series is to present up to nine concerts per year of various IMG_0120_2music styles for the sake of engaging the widest possible interest from the local music community whose monetary donations will sustain the concert series and replenish the Holy Trinity Mission Endowment Fund which funded two-thirds the cost of the new organ. Annual gains from the Mission Endowment Fund are granted to support outreach ministries within the local community, the wider church and Holy Trinity itself. In his role as Minister of Music, Joshua Brodbeck serves as our worship music director and our artist-in-residence leading the concert series.
