Faith Formation for Adults
Sunday Scripture Discussion
Meeting at 9:30 on Sundays during the Learning Hour, this group discusses the Bible passages that are used in worship on that day. Group members share responsibility for moderating the conversation on a rotating basis. Contact Carl Peterson to learn more or get engaged.
Sunday Adult Forum
Meeting at 9:30 on Sundays during the Learning Hour, adults share in multi-week seminars on various topics of discipleship and current events related to faith. Leadership is shared by staff, members of the congregation and outside guests. Beloved Small Group
Meeting at 7:00 on Tuesday evenings in the church library, this group shares in prayer and conversation around the Bible and various devotional resources. Contact Carl Peterson to learn more or get engaged.
Preacher’s Bible Study
Meeting at 10:30 on Wednesday mornings in the church library, the pastor shares the Bible passage for preaching on the next Sunday, inviting group members to share how God speaks to them through the words, phrases and images of those passages. Book of Faith Bible Study
Meeting at 7:00 on Thursday evenings in the church library, the pastor leads this comprehensive study of the whole Bible using resources developed for that purpose by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Contact Pastor Steve Wachtman to learn more or get engaged.
Women of the ELCA Bible Study
Meeting at 10:00 on the last Tuesday morning of each month (September-May) in the church library, women of the congregation share in the leadership of this Bible Study with materials prepared and presented by the national organization for Women of the ELCA. Men’s Spiritual Discussion
Meeting at 8:00 on the second Tuesday of each month for breakfast at First Watch in the Kingsdale Shopping Center, this group of men meets to discuss a wide variety of faith topics as presented by a rotating schedule among group members and other guests. Sisters in the Spirit
Meeting monthly as announced, this group of women seeks to help develop programs for younger members of the church, endorses multi-generational fellowship, and supports families in our own congregation as well as others. Contact Krissy Malatesta to learn more or get engaged.
Women of the ELCA
Meeting monthly at 7:30 on the first Wednesday evening, 12:30 on the third Wednesday, and 1:30 on the second Wednesday of each month, these groups of women meet for mutual consolation, study, service and prayer. Contact the church office to learn more or get engaged.
Young Adults Group
Meeting electronically at 8:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month, this group of adults under the age of 40 uses Google Hangout for topical conversation as decided by the group, and they gather between meetings for occasional social events as well. Book Review Ministry

Faith Formation for Youth
Sunday School
Meeting at 9:30 during the Learning Hour September through May, Sunday School classes are offered for youth ages 3-year-old through high school. Preschool and elementary children begin with an Opening of music and theme presentation in Grace Hall as they learn stories from the Bible told start to finish. Middle School and High School students proceed directly to their meeting spaces and discuss the Bible passages being used in worship for the day. Contact Pastor Steve to learn more or get engaged.
Vacation Bible School
Beginning on the last Sunday in July, the Vacation Bible School Creative team prepares and presents an educational ministry for preschool and elementary children each summer. Bible stories are developed each day with theme presentations, music, crafts, recreation, service projects and snack. Contact Pastor Steve to learn more or get engaged.
Confirmation & Middle School Youth Ministry
All middle school students are invited to share in acolyte service at worship, Sunday School and monthly youth group activities. 6th, 7th and 8th grade students also participate in Catechism class instructed by the pastor and others at 9:30 on Sunday mornings in preparation for their confirmation on the third Sunday in May of their 8th grade year. High School Youth Ministry
All high school students are invited to participate in weekly youth group meetings at 7:00 each Sunday evening at church. Occasional service and recreational activities are planned as well. Each summer includes a week-long mission trip experience including the ELCA National Youth Gathering every three years and a Lutherland Pilgrimage to Germany every four years. Cradle Role
The parents of each child in the congregation from birth to age 3 receives a monthly newsletter celebrating the development progress of their child’s life and faith. It serves as a prelude to the development that continues with them in Sunday School. Contact Genie Craven to learn more or get engaged.
Children’s Christmas Program
On the second or third Sunday in December each year, Sunday School children present a Christmas musical that tells again of Jesus’ birth at Christmas. Rehearsals begin around Thanksgiving. Contact Minister of Music Joshua Brodbeck to learn more or get engaged.
