Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous.
Praise befits the upright.
Praise the LORD with the lyre;
make melody to him with the harp of ten strings.
Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.
For the word of the LORD is upright,
and all his work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD. Psalm 33:1-5
It’s an exciting time to be involved with music at Holy Trinity! The choirs are getting ready for their first concert in the concert series, and the children’s choir will start rehearsing the Christmas Pageant soon. The Psalms tell us to praise the Lord with all types of instruments and voice. Besides the wonderful things that already are happening, I would like to start two more musical groups at Holy Trinity.
First, I would like to start a band. Do you play or did you ever play an instrument? Would you like to try to learn a new instrument? Would you just like to play tambourine or cowbell? Let me know!
Second, I would like to start a string group that would play about twice a year. Did you play the violin in middle school and haven’t touched it in a while? Is your child learning a stringed instrument in school and would like to play with a group that has a diverse skill level? Let me know!
Everyone is able to make a joyful noise to God. Please know that everyone at every skill level is more than welcome to participate in the music programs at Holy Trinity. Please find me after church or send me an email if you would like to make an addition to the Holy noise we make at Holy Trinity.
