Community Involvement in Worship
As this year’s Theme Team and staff seek to enhance and enrich everyone’s Sunday morning experience at Holy Trinity, your participation is vital to that goal. You may be asking, “How do I do that?” By sharing your gifts, of course!
As we begin our new ministry year with the theme “HERE + NOW — On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!” we are challenging everyone to assist with Sunday morning activities in a manner that is best suited to your gifts and interests. In addition to traditional worship assisting on Sunday mornings, there are behind the scenes ministry opportunities as well as pre- and post-worship activities that may better suit your particular gifts. Some of the possibilities include:
Altar ministry/pew cleanup
Assist with setting up communion, straightening pews and coordinating chancel flowers
Greeter
Stand near the Reception Window to greet guests and provide direction to any visitors.
Usher
Assist with bulletin distribution before worship, collect offering and coordinate communion pattern.
Acolyte
Process with torches, present offering plates to ushers and assist with communion.
Choir (Children, Adult, Bell)
Provide music leadership in worship under the direction of the Minister of Music.
Instruments: guitar, drum, keyboard, horn
Supplement music leadership under the direction of the Minister of Music.
Communion Assistant
Distribute wine during communion.
Lay Reader
Read scripture lessons for the congregation.
Assisting Minister
Offer prayers on behalf of the congregation and facilitate the communion process.
Hospitality
Assist with refreshments available before and after worship.
Worship Tech Team
Provide leadership for live-streaming services during worship.
Wrap-up moderator
Help convene check-in meetings after worship for all youth groups: children, tweens, middle and high school.
Whether you’ve served in a particular capacity before or would like to try something new, training will be provided at 9am and 11am on Sunday morning, September 24. You may signup at the Collection and Signup Corner in the Gathering space or online below.
